Astrae Oratio FAQ — Every Confirmed Answer in One Place

EasyTime ~6 min readUpdated

This page answers the questions people actually ask about Astrae Oratio — the release date, the platforms, the name, the beta — with one rule: every answer comes from NC's official announcements, and anything the studio hasn't said yet is labeled as such rather than guessed at. The questions are grouped below, and most answers link out to a deeper guide if you want the full picture.

Release, Platforms & Pricing

When does Astrae Oratio come out?

NC has confirmed a 2027 release window: iOS and Android launch first, and the PC version follows after the mobile launch, also within 2027. An exact date hasn't been announced yet. The two most recent milestones — the Tokyo Game Show 2026 demo in September and the closed beta in October 2026 — put the game well into its testing phase.

Is Asora a different game from Astrae Oratio?

No — Asora is simply the short name for Astrae Oratio. NC's official X and YouTube channels for the game are @Asora_EN, so the nickname comes straight from the publisher. The title itself is Latin for 'Prayer of the Stars', and the project was previously known by the working name Project AT.

What platforms will Astrae Oratio be on?

Three confirmed: iOS, Android, and PC. The mobile versions arrive in 2027, with the PC release to follow. No console versions — Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox — have been announced.

Can I pre-register for Astrae Oratio?

Pre-registration hasn't opened yet as of early November 2026. The only sign-up so far was for the closed beta, which ran from August 19 to September 21, 2026. When pre-registration opens, it will be announced on the official website and the @Asora_EN social channels.

How much will Astrae Oratio cost?

Pricing and the business model haven't been detailed in NC's announcements yet. Platforms and the 2027 window are locked in; how the game will be sold is a question for closer to launch, and the official channels will carry that news first.

What are the system requirements?

Official system requirements haven't been published yet — no minimum phone models, OS versions, or PC specs. That's normal this far from launch; specs usually arrive near pre-registration or a later test. Until NC publishes them on the official site, any requirements table you see elsewhere is guesswork.

Gameplay & Modes

What kind of game is Astrae Oratio?

A story-driven anime RPG, officially tagged as a 'Shindenki' (new-legend) RPG themed on magic and administration. Battles are strategic real-time 3D turn-based encounters, and the story unfolds in visual-novel-style scenes with dialogue choices.

Who do you play as?

The Shunin, a low-ranking public official assigned to the Special District Office — the agency responsible for overseeing the administrative affairs of Tokyo's magicians while concealing their identities. You handle the city's magician-related incidents as their designated civil servant.

Is Astrae Oratio multiplayer?

Everything shown so far is single-player content: the story chapters, the CBT's combat quests, the Score Trial (where players compete for high scores), and Free Time mode. NC hasn't described any live multiplayer modes.

Is the game voiced, and in which languages?

NC confirmed at Tokyo Game Show 2026 that the main story will be voiced in Japanese. Details about other language options haven't been announced yet.

What was in the closed beta?

The five-day CBT (October 2–6, 2026) included three main story chapters, two mini stories, combat quests at various difficulty levels, the Score Trial boss challenge, and Free Time mode for interacting with characters outside the main story. Testers logged nearly 80,000 hours, and 93% of survey respondents said they intend to play at launch.

Story, World & Characters

Where is Astrae Oratio set?

In 'Tokyo '89' — an alternate-history Tokyo where magic exists. The city is at the peak of a boom: Tokyo Tower has just been completed, Odaiba's international exhibition center is under construction after Tokyo won the next Paris Expo over Kyoto, and the city is riding unprecedented postwar economic growth. The official site calls it a familiar yet foreign world.

What is the Special District Office?

It's the government agency the player works for — the institution responsible for overseeing the administrative affairs of the magicians living in Tokyo while concealing their true identities. Think of it as city hall's magic department, with the Shunin as the official exclusively assigned to the magicians.

What is the Trial of Domination?

A trial — a formal duel — held to resolve disputes between magicians, as defined on the official world page. It's the setting's rule-bound way of settling conflicts between people with real power, and it ties directly into the game's dueling-focused combat.

Which characters and clans have been revealed?

NC had introduced 12 characters and 13 comics by June 2026, and the official site has since highlighted characters like Yanagihara Luise and Hatogaya Tsubasa, plus magician clans such as the YuLuKo Trio and Kobato Mart. The full launch roster hasn't been revealed.

Who develops and publishes Astrae Oratio?

The game is developed by Dynamis One, a Korean studio, and published by NC (formerly NCSOFT) — the publishing partnership was announced in June 2026. The game director is Jong-gyu Lim and the art director is In Kim.

The world and story guide goes deeper on all of this: Tokyo '89's boomtown setting, the Special District Office, how modern magic works, and a glossary of the lore terms on the official site — including the ones that haven't been explained yet.
