Chapter 5: Broken Things
Complete walkthrough with step-by-step instructions, tips, and strategies.
Chapter 5: Broken Things is the grand finale, released February 18, 2026. It wraps up the entire Poppy Playtime story. You have allies from Safe Haven, upgraded GrabPack with all 4 hands, and one goal: stop the Prototype.
The Assault Begins
You and your allies launch an assault on the Prototype's lair — the deepest part of the factory. The Prototype has been controlling everything from the shadows, and this is where it ends.
Move Through the Ruined Factory
Progress with your allies through collapsing corridors. The Prototype knows you're coming and is actively trying to stop you. Sections fall apart as you advance. Keep moving — there's no safe spot to stop and rest.
Fight Prototype-Infused Toys
Smaller enemies (toys corrupted by the Prototype's influence) attack in waves. Use the red hand to pull them off ledges and the blue hand to redirect their charges into walls.
The Prototype Boss Fight — Stage 1: Ground Assault
The Prototype hangs from the ceiling — a massive amalgamation of all the other toys. The fight happens in three stages.
Dodge the Shockwaves
The Prototype smashes the ground, sending out earthquake-like shockwaves. Jump over them — if they hit you, you're staggered and vulnerable to follow-up attacks.
Use the Red Hand on Debris
Loose debris hangs from the ceiling. Use the red hand to pull it down onto the Prototype. This is your primary damage method in Stage 1. Each debris hit does 10% damage.
Aim for Glowing Weak Points
The Prototype has glowing orange nodules on its body. Hitting these with pulled debris does double damage. Prioritize them when they appear (after each debris hit, a new weak point spawns).
Pursue When It Retreats
After taking 40% damage, the Prototype retreats deeper into its lair. Follow it — the arena transitions to the vertical chase.
Stage 2: Vertical Chase
Use the Purple Hand to Grapple
The Prototype climbs up through the lair. You follow using the purple hand to grapple between platforms. Grapple points are marked with a purple glow.
Avoid Falling Debris & Tentacles
The Prototype rips pieces off the walls as it climbs. These fall toward you. Dodge left/right while grappling to avoid them. Tentacles also swipe at you from the walls — time your grapples between swipes.
Reach the Top Platform
After 8 grapple points, you reach the top platform. This is where the final showdown happens. Save your high-frequency emitter for the final phase — it's your most powerful weapon.
Stage 3: Final Confrontation
The Prototype's True Form
At the top, the Prototype reveals its true form — even larger, with armor plating covering its core. Your previous damage methods won't work now.
Use ALL Four Hands Strategically
- Blue hand — redirect energy beams that the Prototype fires at you
- Red hand — pull armor plates off weak points
- Green hand — crank charging mechanisms to power the emitter
- Purple hand — grapple to safety when the Prototype charges
Deploy the High-Frequency Emitter
When all four armor plates are removed, use the high-frequency emitter (built in Chapter 4) on the exposed core. This does massive damage and stuns the Prototype. You need to do this 4-5 times to win.
The Ending
After the Prototype is defeated, the factory starts collapsing for real. Your allies sacrifice themselves one by one to help you escape. Poppy stays behind to ensure the Prototype is truly dead. You barely make it to the surface as the factory implodes behind you.
The final scene shows you standing outside as dawn breaks over the ruined factory. A post-credits scene hints that something might still be alive down there... or is it just your imagination?
