Night 5 Survival Guide (FNAF 1)
Complete walkthrough with step-by-step instructions, tips, and strategies.
Night 5 in FNAF 1 is the ultimate test of your survival skills. All four animatronics — Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy — are at their most aggressive. Bonnie and Chica make it to your doors within the first 30 seconds, Foxy runs constantly, and Freddy's music box starts earlier than ever.
The key to Night 5 is perfect power management. Every second of light and every door closure costs power. If you run out before 6 AM, Freddy gets you.
Animatronic AI on Night 5
| Animatronic | Aggression | Strategy |
|---|---|---|
| Bonnie (Left Door) | Very High | Will be at your left door constantly. Check every 5-10 seconds. |
| Chica (Right Door) | Very High | Mirrors Bonnie on the right. Moves faster if you ignore her. |
| Foxy (West Hall) | High | Runs every 30-60 seconds if not checked. Watch the West Hall camera. |
| Freddy (Stage → Kitchen → Office) | Medium | Stays in the kitchen for a long time, but once he moves, he's fast. |
The Exact Night 5 Strategy
Pre-Night Setup — Start of Night
Press start and immediately: close both doors, check the Show Stage camera (1A) to confirm Freddy is there, then check West Hall (4A) for Foxy. By the time you're done, you need to react to Bonnie or Chica who are already approaching.
The Left-Right Rhythm (Core Loop)
This is the most important technique. From about 12 AM to 4 AM:
- Lower the monitor (check both doors quickly)
- If Bonnie is at left door, close it for 2 seconds, then open
- Check right door — if Chica is there, close for 2 seconds, then open
- Check West Hall camera once every 45 seconds (start your timer)
- DON'T use lights unless necessary — each light flash costs as much power as 1 second of door-closed
Foxy Management
Foxy is your biggest power drain if mismanaged. On Night 5, Foxy's aggression is extreme:
- Check West Hall (4A) every 30-45 seconds
- If Foxy is standing at the door (phase 2), close the left door IMMEDIATELY
- Keep the left door closed for 5-6 seconds (Foxy resets to the stage)
- If Foxy is running (you hear footsteps), you're too late — close both doors and pray
Freddy's Music Box (The Late-Game Threat)
Freddy starts his song from the kitchen around 3 AM. When you hear his music, he's in the kitchen. Check the Dining Area (1B) or Kitchen (2A) camera to track him.
- If Freddy is in the kitchen, you're safe for about 2 minutes
- If Freddy leaves the kitchen, check Restrooms (3A), then Kitchen (2A again)
- When Freddy reaches the right door, close it. He leaves faster than Bonnie/Chica
- Once Freddy is at the door, he stays longer — power management becomes critical
The Final Hour — 5 AM to 6 AM
This is where most Night 5 runs fail. By 5 AM, you're running on fumes (under 20% power):
- Stop checking the monitor entirely — it draws the most power
- Only check foy via West Hall camera once at 5 AM
- Never open doors — keep both closed. The door consumes power while closed, but checking = more power
- If you know Bonnie is at the left, keeping left closed is fine
- Wait for 6 AM — if Freddy is at the right door and you have no power, you die
Complete Night 5 Timeline
| Time | Actions | Power Budget |
|---|---|---|
| 12 AM | Close doors, check 1A (Freddy), check 4A (Foxy) | 100% |
| 12 AM - 2 AM | Left-right door cycle, check Foxy every 45s | 80% |
| 2 AM - 4 AM | Same cycle, add kitchen checks every 2 min | 50% |
| 4 AM - 5 AM | Freddy likely approaching, tighten door discipline | 25% |
| 5 AM - 6 AM | Both doors closed, NO monitor, survive | 5-10% |
Power Conservation Checklist
- ✅ Use camera only when necessary — every second costs power
- ✅ Close doors for only 2-3 seconds to repel animatronics
- ✅ Check Foxy via camera only every 30-45 seconds — not more
- ✅ Avoid light usage — it's as expensive as door time
- ✅ Last hour: no cameras, doors always closed if under 15%
