About Gears of War: E-Day
Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel to the original Gears of War, developed by The Coalition and built in Unreal Engine 5. Set 14 years before the first game, it returns to Emergence Day — the moment the Locust Horde erupted from beneath the surface of Sera and changed the planet forever.
The story follows war heroes Marcus Fenix and Dominic "Dom" Santiagoas they return home and come face to face with the Locust for the first time. It's the origin story of the iconic Gears conflict — and a return to the classic, grounded cover-shooter combat the series is known for.
